Magur Mach (scientifically Clarias batrachus), known in English as the Walking Catfish, is an indigenous freshwater live-fish (jiol mach) highly valued in Bengali and Eastern Indian cuisine.

Appearance & Traits: It is a scaleless, dark brownish-black catfish with long barbels (whiskers) and an accessory breathing organ that allows it to survive out of water for extended periods.
